Isolated Triaxial Accelerometer Designed for Modal Analysis, Model 3403A
Dytran Instruments as released the model 3403A, a triaxial IEPE-type accelerometer that weighs just 4 grams. The model 3403A was designed for use in modal analysis and Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) applications, as well as other vibration applications where small size and lightweight are critical.
The Dytran model 3403A is constructed using an exclusive, Dytran designed 4-pin radial connector. Compared to the industry standard connector (1/4-28 thread size), the connector on model 3403A is approximately 20% smaller in size. This substantial size difference allows for a more flexible, lighter-weight cable, a smaller diameter for the connector, and also contributes to the overall smaller size of the sensor.
Featuring hermetic sealing for reliable operation in high-humidity and dirty environments and case isolation to avoid EMI/ground loop interference, the Dytran model 3403A utilizes an adhesive mount and is available with a sensitivity of 10 mV/g. Sensing elements are housed in a titanium construction, contributing to the lightweight of the sensor and providing minimal mass loading on the test article.
